Owing to Moorish aggression, the Spanish forces at Melilla bombarded the Mozuza' tribesmen’s encampments, razing them, and inflicting heavy loss. The Spaniards captured a strategic position at Ulayon, after a desperate fight, in which several Spaniards were killed and 32 wounded.
