A NEW AGREEMENT SIGNED,
RATE OF WAGES/ IMPROVED. * United Press Association —Copyright. MELBOURNE, July 10. An agreement has been signed between the Waterside Workers Federation and the Australian Steamship Owners’ Federation, under which the rate of wages throughout Australia, particularly on the coast of Queensland, is improved. Workers also secure preference to unionists. The settlement of dispute is left to a Board of Conciliation at the port concerned. The agreement has a currency of two years.
