The following is the Result of the Grand National Steeplechase, of 1500 sovs.; 3 miles one furlong: Bribery (Burn) ... ... 1 Confederate (Ryan) 2 Squirm (Deeble) 3 There was beautiful weather. • All the accentors started. Workmaster and Snob lead out of the straight, Bribery being the last to move. Passing the bridge, Squirm was out three lengths from Pilot. Grafnax took command at the bridge, and Ripon fell. Grafnax maintained the lead into the straight from Fred, Bribery, Postboy, and Confederate. Postboy fell at the stone wall. Grafnax lost the lead for a short distance, but regained it at the sheds. Bribery was going easily, and fencing faultlessly. Grafnax looked a winner, but toppled over at the second last fence. Bribery, who had not made a single mistake, then led and, from the distance, had all his own way, and won by 15 lengths. Time, 6min 37£sec. Doutta Galla Hurdle Race, 2& miles. 3. Won by five lengths. Time, 4min Lawn Handicap, 6 furlongs—Mindful 1, Kerlie 2., Akim Foe 3. Won by two and a-half lengths. Time, lmin 16£sec. July Handicap, 1 mile. —Iliad 1, Winteriga 2, Kildean 3. Won by five lengths. Time, lmin 43|sec. Footseray Steeplechase, about two miles. —Jack Shay 1, Earl of Castles 2. Comus 3. Won by eight lengths. Time, 4min I6£sec.
