REV. R. S. GRAY
MISSION IN GISBORNE
Despite the wintry weather, the Baptist Tabernacle was well lilled last evening, when the Rev. R. S. Gray continued his mission work in Gisborne. The preacher, spoke irom the story ox the giving of sight to the blind man as told in the 10th chapter ol the Gospel written by Mark; and told liow Jesus Christ was able to give sight to those who were spiritually blind, ancl to open the eyes of the sinners that they may be able to see His glory and His righteousness. The Rev. W. Lamb said lie regretted that it bad been found impossible to postpone to-niglit’s meeting, so that those who wished to attend the farewell social to Bishop Williams would have an .opportunity to do so ; but the Rev. R. S. Gray .had to leave for Christchurch to-morrow, and the arrange- - meats for the meeting had been made weeks ago. However, he knew that there were many people who had attended the mission services wlio would also like to show their respect for the “Grand Old Man” who was retiring from the Bishopric of Waiapu,, The Rev. R. S. Gray will conclude bis mission in Gisborne ,this evening, when a great thanksgiving meeting will be held in the Baptist Tabernacle, commencing at 7.30 p.m. As the mission has been very successful, a considerable number of people, are expected to bo present.
