MISSING MAN.

LOST IX OTAKI GORGE. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. July 12. Hugh Gockrill aged 22, who was mustering cattle in the Otaki Gorgeon Friday in company Avith another man, is lest. The police and 100 settlers liaA'e been searching for him without result. The Yuan is in delicate health.

News from Otaki states that the parties are still unsuccessful in the search for Cockrill. A fire was seen on the hills, and a search is being made in that direction, though it is belieA'ed that Cockrill had no matches. A large number of Maoris are taking part in the search, and hockey and other fixtures for to-morrow haA-e been postponed .
