UNITED STATES TARIFF.
REFERRED TO A CONFERENCE. ITS PROBABLE EFFECT ON REVENUE. United Press Association —Copyright (Received July 12, 11.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 12. The United States Tariff Bill has been referred to a conference of committees of both Houses of Congress. As ; the Bill left the Senate it makes no alteration in the Dangley tariff as far as 75 per cent, of the imports are concerned. It, however, increases the duty on 15 per cent, of the imports, and reduces it on ten per cent, of the. imports. Some of the changes, it is estimated, on the one hand, will augment the revenue compared with the previous duties by 13 million sterling, while other changes, on the other hand, will effect a diminution estimated at £362,000.
