STRIKE AT BROKEN HILL
SINGLE MEN REPLACED BY MARRIED MEN. THE MAYOR’S ACTION. Dnitku Pkkss Association —Copyright SYDNEY, July 13. A municipal strike lias occurred at Broken Hill through the Mayor displacing eight single men to make way for a similar number of unemployed married men. The Municipal Employees’ Association ordered a strike, with the result that all civic services, including electric lighting, were suspended. The Mayor then reversed his action, and work was resumed.
