WELLINGTON SYNOD.
THE NEW SOUTH WALES EDUCA-
TION SYSTEM. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 14. At tho Anglican Synod, it was resolved: “That this Synod desires to express its approval of the principle cm-, bodied in the Now South Wales education system, hv which clergy and accredited teachers of the several religions bodies have permission to visit the State schools within the ordinary school hours for the purpose of going religious instruction, and that a commit tea he appointed to consider the best means of securing for this country facilities of the same character as those granted in New South 4\ ales, the committee to send their reports to the several Diocesan Synods meeting this year and to sco that the matter be brought before the next General Synod, such committee to consist of the Revs. J. Walker, J. A. Jacob, and A. M. John-, ston, and Messrs G. Sbirtcliffc, F. R. Russell. T. F. Martin, and tho mover, with power to add to their number.” The question of insuring clergy against accident was referred back to thestanding committee, with the view of including insurance against sickness, if possible, tho committee to have power to act. Other .'synods are to be asked to co-operate in urging the General Synod to promote legislation in favor of self-government of the Church in New Zealand. Tho Synod has closed.
