POVERTY BAY HUNT CLUB. Tho Poverty Bay Hunt Club’s annual race meeting will be held on tho Park racecourse on Thursday, August 19th. A WINNER’S BREEDING. The triple, victory of Sublime at tho recent meeting of the Gisborne Racing Club has caused curiosity as to tho breeding of Mr. T. W. Haclcett’s speedy filly. Sublime is bred to stay as well as to gallop, a.nd as an aristocrat can hold her head as high as any horse in Now Zealand. Her sire, Wonderland, was by Musket, and her dam. Heavenly Twin, is a daughter to Castor, sire of the New Zealand Cup winner Canteen, and through Castor, Sublime can claim relationship to twelve Derby winners, four winners of tlie Oaks, and four winners of tho Two Thousand Guineas. Heavenly Twin is the dam of Theodore, winner of the first Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes. Sublime is therefore of the same family as such gallopers and stayers as Soultline, Collarette, Locket, Armilla, and Armlet, who have all held their own as top notchers. WELLINGTON R.C. MEETING.
