Lieutenants Brodie Watkins were rescued. Twelve men were drowned. The submarines "were proceeding to the Thames for the approaching spectacle of 150 warships off the Nore. Submarine Cl 7 remained afloat. DETAILS OF THE DISASTER. COLLISION AT MIDNIGHT IN DENSE FOG. (Received July 16, 9.10 p.m.) LONDON. July 16. The cargo steamer Eddystone, for Hull, in a dense fag off the Norfolk coast ran among the submarines at midnight, colliding with Cll, simultaneously Cl 6 and Cl 7 mutually collided in endeavoring to avoid the Eddystone. Cl 7 was badly damaged.
