OBITUARY.

-—— ■ A MODERNIST PRIEST. United Prices Association —Copyright LONDON, July 16. Father George. Tyrrell, the Modernist, is dead. He wished to receive all the rites of the church, and expressed contrition for his sins, but did not wish for the sacraments at the cost of retraction of what he had said and written in all sincerity, and still considered to be the truth. He received conditional absolution, and subsequently extreme unction, but was unable to take the communion in the absence of power to swallow. [Father George Tyrrell was for many years a member of tbe Society of Jesuß, from which, in 1906, he separated on account of his sympathies with Modernism.]
