THE MONROE DOCTRINE. AUSTRALIA SHOULD HAVE A FLEET. - United Piierk Association- —Copyuigut. MELBOURNE, July 16. Mr Wynne, in the course of the censure debate, advocated the application of the Monroe doctrine to the Pacific, and that tbe United States, Canada, and Australia should have a combined fleet of 30 vessels to safeguard it. THE FEDERAL CENSURE DEBATE. VICTORY OF THE GOVERNMENT. (Received July 16, 9.20 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 16. The censure motion was negatived by 34 to 27, besides four pairs. Six members did not vote, including four Ministerialists. {Received July 17, 1.5 a.m.) There was a squabble at the end of the censure debate over the Government refusing to pay for the Opposition’s refreshments and cabs in connection with the lato sittings. The House has adjourned till Tuesday.
