AXEMEN'S ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING

[Per Press Association.] ELTHAM, July 20. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Axemen’s Association last night the report stated that the attendance of the general public at the last carnival created a fresh record. There has been a falling off in the number of axemen’s licenses issued by the association during the year, attributable to the closing down of a number of mills throughout the Dominion. The net profits for the year amounted to *£73 10s 9d. The balance of assets over liabilities is £335 19s 9d, the whole of which, excepting £4 7s 6d, is represented by actual cash, the association consequently being in an excellent position. A sum of £292 was, paid in prize money. The total expenditure was £603 18s lOd. The executive meet next week to draw up a programme for the next carnival.
