MAORI LANDS TO BE AVAILABLE AS SECURITY.

It is notified in to-night’s Gazette that land as specified below shall be sufficient security for a loan under the Advances to Settlers Act —namely: Maori lands which have been transferred in trust for leasing to and are held under leases from a Maori Land Board, under the powers contained m Ihe Maori Lands Administration Act, 1900,” and its amendments, and which leases have been granted for terms of not less than. 21 years, with the. right of renewal for another term of ~L years or for further terms of 21 years; and which leases contain the provisions set out in the.'regulations under the last-mentioned Act for valuation for improvements, and the provisions section 40. of the principal Act shall apply accordingly.
