She had two severe, and gruelling courses, hut won in great style. A private letter from Invercargill states that Romany Lass, the clever and speedy bitch owned by Mr. E. Morrow, of Gisborne, had very bad luck at the Invercargill meeting. She won her first two courses very easily in tho Waterloo Cup, and went out on three legs to run her third course. She was just beaten by half a point by a very good dog, and on being, taken homo from til© iplumpton her pad was cut open and a thorn a quarter of an inch long was discovered and extracted. The letter also states that Senorita, Mr Morrow’s second hitch, was beaten in the Waterloo Plate, by the dog that eventually won it, and in the cup by the runner-up. Reference is made to the unsatisfactory judging, it being said that on several occasions there were hostile demonstrations against the decisions.
