SIR WILLIAM WYLLIE’S MURDERER.

SENTENCED TO DEATH.

DEFIANT IN THE DOCK.

United Press Association—Copyright

(Received July 25, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 24

Dhingra entered the deck at the Old Bailey smiling. When the indictment was x-ead he remarked unconcernedly that the words could not be applied to him, as whatever he had done was an act of patriotism. He was found guilty and sentenced to death. Thereupon,' saluting, he exclaimed: “I am proud to lay down my humble life for my country.”

ANGLO-INDIANS’ ADVICE. CONSIDER HIS- IMPRISONMENT PREFERABLE TO HANGING. Many Anglo-Indians advise that Dhingra should be committed to penal servitude, as his hanging would be considered martyrdom.
