A committee appointed by the Labor Council ito* inquire into/ the causes of the collapse of the late tramway strike, in the course of its report says that the strike amply demonstrated .the fatality of sectional strikes of. any dimensions, and adds: /‘While the blame is on our own shoulders, simply because we, as trades unionists,, are not organised on industrial lines, which would enable the whole .matter to be carefully considered before any steps are taken, and if a strike was to be the outcome, the whole industry would stop simultaneously.”
