Senator Pearce has givon notice to move on August 19th for the appointment of a select committee to inquire into the question of supply, conditions of sale, and distribution which controls the press cable service within, the Commonwealth. THE NEW ARRANGEMENTS. CHANGES AT WAKAPUAKA. [Per Press Association.] WAKAPUAKA, July 29. From the end of this month the Telegraph department here will be conducted by the Eastern Extension Company, the six departmental operators being transferred to various other offices. The Eastern staff, in order to cope with the extra work, was to-day increased by the arrival of three operators from Sydney.
