There is some uncertainty whether Pilot will start for the Australian Steeplechase. It is believed the distance will be against him. The “Press” is authorised to state •in regard to a statement made by the •Hon. D. Buddo, that no communication whatever has been addressed by the New Zeal a nil Racing Conference to the Minister of the Interior, asking him to approve of the regulations drafted by the conference in reference to bookmakers, that no such regulations have been so drafted or submitted to the Minister. Probably tho mistake has arisen through an application by some individual racing club for approval by the Minister of its local regulations.
