FATAL BOAT ACCIDENT.

THREE LIVES LOST. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 2. A boat belonging to the mission steamer Southern Cross capsized in the harbor to-night. The chief engineer (Mr. R. Rac), the chief steward (Mr. T. Meal a nd), and a native boy named Jimmy were drowned. Four others had a narrow escape, being in the water for some time before they were rescued by a ferry steamer.
