ANOTHER CASE. |Pick Press association., WELLINGTON, August 5. The Customs officers made another seizure on board a steamer yesterday. This time on the Manuka, from bydnoj,, which berthed yesterday afternoon, luo officers and crew were askcci in tlio usual way to declare if they had anything dutiable, and the answers neie alleged to be satisfactory. Tho customary search was then made, and a handsome set of lady’s furs was found in the cabin of an officer. . The third engineer of tho Manuka was charged at the Police Court with bringing iti a set of furs without paying duty! After evidence was given for the prosecution, the point, was raised that the goods were not dutiable, and the case was dismissed without prejudice. It is understood another information, will be laid.
