GOLF.
POVERTY BAY GOLF CLUB. The monthly medal bogey competition in connection with the Poverty Bay Golf Club will be played on the links ■'this afternoon. Some good rounds should be played, as local players are getting into their best form in view of the visit to Napier next week. The team trill leave on Wednesday next, and the match with the Hawke’s Bay Club will be playe’d on the following Friday morning. In addition to the matcli between tho two- clubs, a team of-six from the Gisborne Club will make an effort to wrest-the Wilson Cup from tbe Napier Chib, the present holders. The local six are a strong combination, and should fully extend tho holders of the cup next week. Tho Poverty Bay. Club will be represented by the following team in the match for the Wilson Cup:—P. Keiha, G. M. Dodgshun, J. H. Bull, J. W. Chirnside, Geoff. Wiliock, and W. R. Barker. It isi expected that a good number of Gisborne players, including a team of ladies, will make the trip to Napier.
