GISBORNE CLUB

A meeting of the committee of the Gisborne Bowling Club was held in the Poverty Bay Turf Club rooms on Friday night. ‘Present: Messrs W. Pettie (president), T. Adair, F. W. Eure, «T. Ponsford, T. Corson, T. A. Crawford, and H. Mackintosh (secretary). Before proceeding with the general business tlie president congratulated tho new members elected at the annual meeting, and the old members who were returned. It was decided that the secretary write to the Northern Bowling Association, informing them that the Gisborne Club was in favor of the present manner of conducting tournaments being adhered to. Iho secretary was instructed to supply the Registrar ef Incorporated Societies with the information required by him in accordance with the Incorporated Societies’ Act, 1908. The committee decided to renew the accident policy on tlie club’s' employees, and the secretary was instructed to attend to the same. The matter of the erection of a new pavilion was then gone into, and Mr. F. J. Wilson, senr., who had been asked to prepare a plan, was callel in to explain the same. After sorne discussion and various questions being put to and answered by Mr. Wilson, that gentleman withdrew, and it was decided that the site and plan as presented be adopted, details to be_ left to a building committee, consisting of Messrs W. Pettie, W. J. Hennessy. J. Ponsford, and T. Corson. The following committees were then appointed: Ground Committee —Messrs T. Corson and J. Ponsford; Match; Committee — Messrs T. A. Crawford, T. Adair, and U. W. Eure. Handicapper—Mr. W. J. Hennessy. It was decided that the caretaker’s salary be increased by 5s per week from July 13th. Accounts amounting to £2l 8s 9d were passed for payment, and with a vote of thanks to the chair the meeting closed.
