PATHE PICTURES—AT HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE.
No doubt a large audience will assemble at His Majesty’s Theatre to'morrow night, when Mr. Hayward will submit his first programme of “Pathe Pictures” to a Gisborne audience. So much has been heard regarding the up-to-date nature of the electrical plant now being installed, that doubtless the public are looking forward to seeing something quite out of the ordinary in picture entertainments, and the management states that the public will not be disappointed with the programme to be provided. Mr. Hayward especially draws attention to a picture entitled “The Bridge of Sighs,” which he describes as a pictorial film of great power and pathos, illustrative of Tom Hood’s immortal lyric, and the finest picture ever exhibited in New Zealand. Other pictures of note will be “Scenes in Egypt,” “A Trip through Russian Siberia.” “The Cowboy and the -Songstress,” and “Picturesque Ancona.” The comic element will be supplied by “Jimmy, the Stove Mender,” “The Magic Album,” “The Hypnotic Policeman.” “The Non-Stop Moter-Cycle,” “The Kidnapped Mother-in-law,” and other scenes. The pictures will be shown on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of this week, and a matinee for children is to take place on Saturday afternoon at 2.30, when school children, will be admitted at special prices.
