Lieutenant Shaekleton says that the expedition cost £43,000, and tho expenditure continues, there being a staff of nine persons working out scientific results. H© does not desire to cringe for a personal grant. (Received August 13, 1 a.m.) LONDON, August 12.
Mr. Asquith stated that a Government grant towards Lieut. Shackleton’s expenses is under consideration.
