CHRISTCHURCH, August 12. ■ The New Zealand Grand National meeting was continued to-day in fine but cold'weather. The attendance was again large, and there was some capital racing. -There were several spills, but the only rider to sustain injury was J. Pine, who broke his collar-bone when Claremont fell at the last fence in the Spreydon Haclc Hurdles. The to tali sator investments amounted to £19,849, as against £19,239 last year, and bookmakers were present in strong force. The results were'as follows: —

Hunt Club Cup, of 130 sovs, about 3 miles—Lovell 12.13 1, Deerslayer 11.3 2, Stormy Petrel 10.12 3. Also started:Gammon 11.2, Glengariff 10.13, Arty 10.11, Matengatenga 10.0, Pretoria 10.0, Puzzler 10.0, and Bess 10.0. Won very easily. Besides the placed horses only Bess finished.
