- THURSDAY, AUGUST 12. (Messrs John Somervell and F. W. Riach, J.’kP., were the presiding Justices). DRUNKENNESS. •Walter Harris, a young mail, against whom a prohibition ordex- is in force, was charged with being in an intoxicated condition on Wednesday night. The accused pleaded guilty and was fined 10s with costs 2s, in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. On a charge of breaking liis prohibition order tlie accused was remanded until Monday next to be dealt with by Mr W. A. Barton, S.M. CIVIL CASES. Judgment was given for plaintiff, with costs, in each of the following oases:— R. H. Image (Mr Sainsbury) v. Pera Waaka, claim £1 14s 6d, and costs £1 2s; Mary Jane Kirk (Mr Sainsbury) v. Taliutu, claim £7 Ss 3d,_ costs £2 0s 6d; and the “Gisborne Times ' Company, Ltd. (Mr Sainsbury) y. Joseph Russell, claim £2 19s 6d, costs 10s.
