THE POVERTY BAY TOURING ■ * ' TEAM.
(Special to “Times.”) AUCKLAND, August 13. The team had a splendid passage to Auckland, where they were met by the Rugby ‘ union officials" and driven to then- hotel, and later to Alexandra Park for practice. The team is in •mod fettle, and is training at the Park and in the City Club’s shod. The members are the guests of the Rugby Union at the pantomime to-night, and will be, entertained by the Union at dinner to-morrow night. The team to play Auckland Avill be:• Fitzgerald, Hyland, Pollock, Miller, Kaipara, AVatchorn, Nehu, Tocker, Gilbert, Beach, Donnelly, Lyons, Nicolas, Lowe, and Lincoln. Emergencies, Campbell and Redmond.
TO-DAY’S MATCHES. The matches to he played t'o-day under the auspices of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union are as follows: At Victoria Domain. —1.45 p.m., Y M.C.A. v. Defence Cadets (thirds); 3 p.m., Kaiti-City v. Y.M.C.A. (seniors) ; United v. Y.M.C.A. (juniors). The matches announced to take place at Makauri are to be postponed on account of the mobilisation of the East Coast Mounted Rifles. The ‘'following will represent KaitiC : ty in their match against Y.M.C.A.: Fnil-back, C. Hepburn; three-quarters, Puflett, Rowe, Gomer; five-eighths, Grinlinton and Bowman ; half, Flatman ; forwards, Morse (wing), Hanseh, Hepburn, Swain, Sullivan, Bristow, McKenzie, and Roach.
ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL- ■ The British Association matches for to-day will be: —Taruheru v. Athletic, at Nelson Bros’.; Y.M.C.A. v. Rangers, at Carnarvon Street. The kick-off is to be at 3 p.m. sharp. The team to represent Athletic will be: Newtdu, Gray, Ansell, Hall, Williams, Russell, Rose, Creighton, Jones, Warner, and Cowell; reserves, Smith, Parkinson, and Hayes.
