COMPETITION - AT NAPIER. IPer Press Association.! NAPIER, August 16. The Napier musical and elocutionary competition began to-night. Tho results were: — Soprano Solo: Miss R. Handley (Blenheim), 77 points. 1: Miss L. Bear (Napier), 73 points, 2; Mrs. H. Beebe (Napier), 68 points, 3. Piano Senior: Miss B. A. Horner (Patea, Taranaki), 87 points, 1; Miss St. C. Rickard (Hastings), 85 points, 2; Miss F. Meadowcroft (Napier), 81 points, 3. Vocal Solo (girls under 18): M. Baddeley (Kimbolton), S 6 points, 1; SI. Arnott (Napier). 82 points, 2; D. Shattkv (Hastings), 80 points, 3. The men’s elocutionary competition, was not concluded.
