The Premiers’ Conference is discussing a suggestion that the Common--wealth be invested with certain powers dealing with industrial matteis. Mr Wade, Premier of New South Wales, reviewing the question, said that all the States with the exception _o± Tasmania had the power to provide for a living wage. If Tasmania could see her way to establish,industrial machinery that would 1 destroy the only substantial argument for vesting the federation with the powers the States now enjoy. •
