ANNUAL CONFERENCE

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 16

The Waterside Workers’ Conference resolved that the attention of the Government be drawn to the inferior lighting of tho holds of ships working coal and timber. A remit urging an amendment of the Harbor Boards Act so that all work on wharves shall cease between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. on five days of the week and at noon on Saturdays, was presented.
