THE TURF.

POVERTY BAY HUNT RACES

The annual races of the Poverty Bay Hunt will be held on the Park racecourse to-day, and as the weather promises to be fine some splendid jumping should be witnessed. Six races, includnig two open handicaps will be run. oft, the first race being timed to start at half-past I o’clock. A special tram will leave Gisborne for the Course at ten minutes past one o’clock, arriving at To Hapara in ample time for the opening event. Six bookmakers will be licensed, and Mrs. Erskine will provide lunch and afternoon tea. The Hon. James Carroll will be present.
