MANGAPAPA SCHOOL COMMITTEE
MONTHLY MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Mangapapa School Committee was held at the residence of Mr. M. McLeod, Mangapapa, last evening. Present —Messrs M. McLeod (chairman), W r . H. Smith, T. Ellery, G. Brown, E. Grundy, A. Goad, and E. S. Gouldsmith (secretary). The headmaster’s monthly report showed that the number of scholars on the roll was 211, there having been an average attendance for the month of iOO. The headmaster (Mr. R. Cole) also embraced in his report the following: “As this is tho last committee meeting at which Mr. McLeod will be present, I shall take the opportunity of congratulating him on his appointment to the Education and at the same time thanking him for lus unremitting attention to all matters affecting the school. We have teen very fortunate in having one like Mr. ■ l eLeod, who has given so. much time and attentibn to tlie requirements or the school.” ' Mr. A. Sawyer was elected a member of the committee, arid Mr. E. Grundy was unanimously olected chairman in place of Mr. M. McLeod. A vote of thanks was Recorded to Mr. and. Mrs. McLeod for their kindness in having the committee meetings held at their residence, and to Mr. W. .'Hi Smith for the donation of a map of New Zealand for the school. Messrs Brown and Coad were appointed a Visiting Committee for the month. A number of accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting closed.
