Sir Joseph Ward, Prime Minister of New Zealand, had a long interview with Mr Lloyd-George (Chancellor of the Exchequer), Mr Winston Churchill, (President of the Board of Trade), Mr Sydney Buxton (Postmaster-General), and Colonel Seeley (Under-Secretary for the Colonies). The subjects of mails and cables -were dealt with. DEPARTURE FROM ENGLAND. A HEARTY FAREWELL DEMONSTRATION. (Received August 23, 12.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 22. Sir Joseph and Lady Ward, Dr. Fitchett, Mr. Hislop, and Miss Rubi Seddon have left London. They will sail from Vancouver by the Makura. A large crowd warmly cheered as the train left Euston station. Among those who were present were: Mr. H. Just (Assistant-Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies), representing the Colonial Office, the,; Hon. W. Hall-Jones, Mrs. and Misses Hall-Jones, the Chinese ambassador, Dr. Chappie, Messrs J. Witheford and: J.W. Raymond, Colonel Davies, Sir Walter Kennaway, and Messrs Wray and Palliser.
