Mr Lloyd-George, Chancellor of the Exchequer, on being interviewed, expressed his admiration for the Rheims tournament, which was organised by the club without Government help. The progress of the association in so short a time was marvellous. He only wished that such a meeting was possible at an early date in England, say on Salisbury Plain. M. Bleriot, at Rheims, beat M. Curtiss’ record by 31 seconds. Other French aeroplanists made many daring evolutions.

A gathering of 100,000 people at Rheims at the aviation ground gave an ovation to President Fallieres, who received General French and other British representatives, and affably conversed with them, amid cheers for the entent cordiale.
