WEDNEtSDAY, AUGUST 25. (Before Mr W. A. Barton, DRUNKENNESS. A first offender on a charge of drunkenness did not appear and was ordered to forfeit the amount -of his bail, £l. ALLEGED THEFT. A youth named John Murray, arrested at Ngatapa on Tuesday, was charged with having stolen a saddle the property of Allan Stevens. The accused pleaded guilty. Sergeant Hutton said Stevens had left his horse at a stable while he went to the theatre and when he came back for his horse the saddle had gone. The accused was remanded until this -morning for the probation officer’s report.
