Mr. Curtiss, an American, won the 10 kilometre aeroplane speed race in seven minutes fifty-five seconds; also the Gor-don-Bennett 20 kilometre speed prize, consisting of a cup of the value of £IOOO sterling, with, a trophy worth £SOO, in fifteen minutes fifty-one seconds. M. Bleriot was second, in fifteen minutes- fifty-six seconds, and Mr Latham third in seventeen minutes thirtythree seconds. THE RHEIMS TESTS. VICTORY FO’r~CURTLSS AND ACCIDENT TO BLERIOT.

PARIS, August 30. Mr. Curtiss won the 30 kilometre speed race in 26' minutes 30 seconds. M.. Bleriot’s motor in his race exploded, and the burning machine struck the ground with some force. M. Bleriot was slightly burned on the hand. A quarter of a million spectators were present. ANOTHER JOURNEY BY ZEPPELIN. WELCOMED BY THE KAISER. BERLIN, August 30. Count Zeppelin, in his airship, quitted Friedriohsliafen on Friday and experienced mishaps necessitating stoppages and repairs. He arrived at Berlin yesterday. The Kaiser warmly welcomed him, and drove with him to the Royal Castle.
