LATE SIR FREDERICK HOLDER’S SEAT. OBTAINED BY "a~MINISTERIALIST (Received August 31, 1.20 a.m.) ADELAIDE, August 30. Mr. Foster, a Ministerialist, has been elected to fill the vacancy in the Federal House of Representatives through the death of Sir Frederick Holder. He defeated Mr. Vaughan,' Laborite, by 1332 votes. [The by-election for the Wakefield electorate, to fill the .vacancy created through the death of the late Speaker, Sir Fredireck Holder, in the Federal House of Representatives, was a straight-out contest 'between Labor and the present Federal Government, in© Hon. R. W. Foster, the successful candidate, is a well-known South Australian politician, and held office in State politics as Commissioner for Public Works, and Minister of Agriculture and Industry. He is a resident ot Quorn, and has thrice been Mayor of the town. Mr. Howard Vaughan, the defeated Labor candidate, is solicitor.!
