CAUSES GAMBLING IN STOCKS. A REASSURING REPORT. United Press Association —Copyright. new YORK, Aug. 31. There has been,, much gambling in New York for several days on rumors concerning Mr E. H. Harriman’s illness. Railway stocks became buoyant on Mr Harriman issuing a statement that a surgeon’s examination disclosed that there was nothing seriously wrong with him, and that he only requires rest.
