A deputation of business men ’asks the Federal Government to take immediate action to search for the Waratah. They suggested the despatch of one or two vessels.
The Minister of Customs expressed sympathy with the proposal, and promised that the Cabinet would consider the matter to-day.

SAW NOTHING OF THE WARATAH
(Received September 2, 12.40 a.m.) K MELBOURNE, September* 1. The German steamer Goslar has arrived from Port Elizabeth. She saw no traces of the Waratah.*
Yesterday morning Mr. Harvey, whose wife, son, and sister-in-law were passengers from Sydney by the Waratah for Capetown, received a letter, posted in Durban, from Mrs. Harvey, who states therein that they had a very fine passage to Durban, and who speaks very highly of the steamer. Many of the passengers, the letter says, were for Johannesburg, and would disembark at Durban. - ■
