GIVES PROCEEDS OF HIS LECTURES TO CHARITIES.

The directors of the hospital Saturday fund have received a letter from Lieut. Shackleton, mentioning that as a result of his lectures in Australia and New Zealand about £3200 will be handed over to various charitable institutions there. He has decided to devote the whole proceeds of his lectures there to charities as a token of gratitude for the substantial aid afforded the expedition by the Commonwealth and New Zealand Governments.
