NOUMEA.
AGITATION AGAINST STOPPING PUBLIC WORKS. United Press Association —Copyright. SYDNEY, Sept. 7. There is a strong agitation in Noumea against the action of the Home Government stopping public works already undertaken. A mass meeting of citizens decided, after some fierce speeches, to request the Governor to use his influence with the French Government to quell the discontent, which, if allowed to grow, might reach serious proportions. The Governor has sent a cable and is awaiting a reply.
