At the Co-operative Butter Association’s Conference various suggestions were considered as to freeing dairy farmers from the competition of 1 margarine. It was the opinion of the conference that no coloring matter should be allowed in margarine. MANUFACTURE OF MARGARINE. (Received September 9, 10.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 9. The Chief Secretary promised sympathetic consideration to a request from a deputation from the Co-operative Butter Conference to prohibit the use of coloring matter in the manufacture of margarine.
