In the interstate golf match Victoria beat New South Wales, and Tasmania beat New South Wales, and in the final Victoria heat Tasmania by four. Several of the Southern players who are competing in the- golf championships, commencing next Monday, hate arrived, and more are expected by the express to-morrow morning. Moic than the usual amount of interest attaches to the professional championship, which will probably be contested by Clements (of Auckland), the promising young player who now holds the open championship, F. Hood (of Wunkland), D. flood (of Christchurch), Watt (of Dunedin), McCormick (of Gisborne), and Martin (of Wellington).
