■The' monthly meeting Committee of the ihiranganui Bowling Club was held at the, Record Reign Hotel last -evening, there being present Messrs W.. Bruce (President), M. G. NasmitH, - junr, J. D. Jeune, P. Hallam, and W., 0. Sheet (hon. sec.) • . r
-. -The rules as revised as the previous meeting of the committee were again dealt with, and finally passed. It was -decided that a special meeting of- -the -Club bo held on Monday, September -20th, . for the . purpose of adopting the * new rules. ‘ .-V,.,' ■ - ./' T
The question of the. opening; of the new" season was brought forward, and At/ was agreed to open the green . on, Thursday, October 7thi Arrangements for the, opening are to be made at a special meeting of the committee to be held after the meeting of members on Monday - night week. The necessity of - erecting .an iron fence on the southern end of the sec- - tion recently acquired from the,. Borough Council was brought Up, and it was agreed to empower Mr. Hallam :to - gtet the, feeling. of- the members on; the naatter; the work to be done if theimembers so- desired. ;;•>••• f ' The matter of providing bicycle 'stands for the convenience ,of members wafjraisedjrand.it was agreed ftiiat Mr. IfesniithA get' the- standsi erected, providing. the cyclists .among the members ■found the suUi necessary. b-. »«;■ It was agreed to- procure Wire-netting for;.; the improvements of the. grounds, audAthe . secretary was instructed; to; • procure-: a;necessary appurtenance -to the' afternoon' tea room in the shape ;of a:: gas apparatus. dA GISBORNE CLUB.
