TOKOMARU FREEZING WORKS
TENDER FOR ERECTION ACCEPTED.
A meeting of the directors of the Tokomaru Freezing Company was held at Tologa Bay on Saturday night for the purnose of considering the tenders for the" erection of the company’s works at Tokomaru. Eight tenders were received, and the lowest, that of Messrs Bull Bros., Napier, of £39,000, was accepted. One tender came from Christchurch, three from Wellington, two from Napier, one from Gisborne, and one from Auckland. Work under the contract is to be put in hand immediately, and the works are to be ready by October, 1910. The contract includes the erection of freezing works (with a capacity of dealing with 2000 sheep, or.their equivalent, per diem), besides a residence for the manager, seven cottages for married workmen, and a building containing quarters for the single men.
