A circular is at present being sent to residents of Masterton by a provisional committee who are interested in the formation of a residential club in Masterton. It is proposed to provide suitable accommodation for members, their wives, and families at a reasonable and payable tariff; to provide sitting and music rooms for ladies and their friends, and social rooms for the male members, so as to give the premises the appearance of a home, when by circumstances one is compelled to stay in town. The annual subscription per member is not expected to exceed ■£2, and special arrangements may be made for temporary visitors to town, who can be recommended by any subscribing member.
