ENGINEERING WAGES

The ballot by engineering and kindred trades at Manchester led to the acceptance of an arrangement whereby wages will not be disturbed for the next three' years, and any subsequent alterations in the rate of wages will be subject to two months’ notice.

The Admiralty has abandoned the salvage of the submarine Cll, sunk in a collision off Yarmouth on July 15.
