BOWLING.
TURANGANUI CLUB. A special meeting of the members of tho Turanganui Bowling Club was bold at the Royal Hotel last evening, when there was'a good attendance, Mr. W. Bruce (president), occupying the chair. Tho meeting was called for the purpose of adopting a revised set of rules and special bowling bv-laws for the club. The committee had gone thoroughly into the matter of revision, making a. largo number of alterations. These revised rules were placed before the meeting. After about an hour’s dismission the revised rules were adopted with one or two slight alterations, on the proposition of Mr. J. P. Williams, seconded by Mr. M. G. Nasmith, junr. It was resolved to immediately procure pointed copies of the now rules. Mr. Williams informally raised the euestion of new mats to provide for tho new rule requiring both feet on the mat.—lt was agreed to refer the proposal for the favorable consideration of the committee. . Mr. Nasmith, .junr. informally raised the question of -insuringmembers’ property .in the club’s pavilion, such as bowls, etc.—After discussion the committee was recommended to secure an insurance policy on such property. Mr. J. Colley mentioned informally the need of bowling costumes for the players, and Air. P. E. Hallam was instructed to obtain prices for such. . The meeting then adjourned.
