THE RUGBY GAME. TO-DAY’S MATCHES. This afternoon, on the Domain, a match will be played between teams representing the carters and butchers. The proceeds are in aid of the Maternity Home. The carters’ team will be as follows: Gillies, Aveiw, Innis, Langford, Greaves, Cahill, Casley, McGarald, Whitfield, Warfelt, Stevens, uwtnstoiie, Roderick, Burnand, Harwood, Sceats, Brown, Carter, and Sutton. The following will represent the butchers: Lewis, Williams, Cleary, Heaney, Newton (2), McConnell (2), Clarke (2), Carter, Russell, Robertson, Kinnamont (2), Bryant; emergencies, J. Maynard, J. Newton, senr., T. McConnell, J. Harries, J. Cassidy, A. Thomas, and J. Halbert.. The following players will represent the tailors in their match against the hairdressers at Victoria Domain this afternoon : East, Nichols, Goldsmith, Dennett, Gordon, Somervell, Holmes, Whitfield, Russell, Dudfield, Allen, Patterson, Pool, McConnell, Petersen, and Stewart. JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. The final of the junior championship under tlie auspices of the Poverty BayRugby Union will be played at Victoria Domain on Saturday between Y.M.C.A. and Ivaiti-City. The kick-off is to be at 3 p.m.
THE ASSOCIATION GAME. GISBORNE SELECT v. TARUHERU. The following team lias been selected to represent Gisborne against Taruheru on Saturday next, at the Domain: Goal, Creighton; backs, Douglas and Scroggie; half-backs, Grimshaw (captain),' McLaohlan, Holland; forwards, Miller, Hogg, Sharp, Rennie, Hoare. Reserves: Young and Wattie. Kickoff at 3.30 p.m. sharp.
